Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra: First images and specs leak ahead of launch

Samsung is preparing the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, with a leaked image confirming a near-identical design to the Tab S11 Ultra. The high-end model will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor and come in Wi-Fi and 5G variants.

Unchanged design, despite criticism

The first renders of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, published on August 19, 2026, reveal stylistic continuity with the previous generation. The tablet retains the front camera notch, a choice already criticized on the Tab S11 Ultra. The thin bezels, dual rear camera module, and 14-inch widescreen format remain unchanged. The compatible S Pen also keeps its physical side button.

Spec sheet: what’s new under the hood

The Tab S12 Ultra stands out mainly for its processor. According to available information, Samsung would opt for the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, a more powerful chip than the Dimensity 9400+ in the Tab S11 Ultra. The 11,600 mAh battery and 14-inch AMOLED display would, however, be carried over. Wi-Fi and 5G variants are confirmed by a recent listing in the Google Play Console, with references such as SM-X940 for the Wi-Fi model.

Timeline and certifications

Samsung announced in July 2026 that the Tab S12 series would be unveiled in the second half of the year. The Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra were introduced in September 2025, suggesting a similar timeline for 2026. The tablets have already received Bluetooth SIG certification and appear in the list of devices supported by the Google Play Console, with five models for the Tab S12+ and three for the Tab S12 Ultra.
