Whoop removes the subscription requirement for its Advanced Labs blood tests. Now, any user can order these tests, priced from $150, without a monthly plan.
Clinical tests accessible without commitment
Launched in 2025, Advanced Labs offers blood tests combined with data from the Whoop wristband to assess cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal, and inflammatory health. Until now, this service was reserved for Whoop subscribers. As of August 18, 2026, Whoop is opening it to everyone, with no subscription required.
The tests, conducted in partnership with Quest Diagnostics, remain paid: the base price is $150 per analysis. Whoop notes that comparable exams cost over $3,000 in the traditional healthcare system.

An expanded portfolio and an aggressive strategy
Whoop is using this announcement to add a new test to its catalog: Galleri, developed by GRAIL. This early cancer detection test can identify signals associated with over 50 types of tumors. Results appear directly in the Whoop app, alongside other health metrics.
This move comes amid heightened competition in the screenless tracker market, where Garmin and Google Fitbit have recently strengthened their presence. By removing the subscription barrier, Whoop aims to attract a broader audience, including users of other wearable brands.
“Whoop Advanced Labs provides access to comprehensive clinical tests, often missing from routine checkups and historically reserved for high-end medicine or specialized clinics. By making them more accessible, we help people better understand their health and make earlier, more informed decisions.” — Dr. Ami Bhatt, Chief Medical Officer of WhoopTranslated from French
Whoop’s strategy hinges on a bet: by broadening access to its premium services, the brand can retain users who, without a subscription, might switch to competitors. It remains to be seen whether the cost of the tests, though lower than traditional exams, will be enough to convince.
