The GTA 6 showcase took place this Thursday, August 27 at 9 PM on Netflix. Since 3 AM this Friday, August 28, the 26-minute video has been available for free on YouTube, and in uncompressed 4K on Rockstar’s official website.
The livestream took down Netflix (and Free)
At exactly 9 PM, Netflix’s servers buckled under the influx of viewers, before recovering a few minutes later. The video, titled “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look”, was ultimately streamed without interruption. The incident wasn’t isolated: Free also experienced a network outage at 9:30 PM, with nearly 400 reports on Downdetector, mostly related to high-speed internet. No official confirmation links this outage to GTA 6, but the coincidence is striking.
What the video shows
The presentation, captured on a standard PS5, reveals a visually stunning game, with ultra-detailed environments, advanced lighting, and smooth animations. The two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, form an inseparable duo: players switch between them during missions, and their story seems bound by a tragic fate. The police system evolves, with a wanted level going up to six stars and a memory of the clothes and vehicles used.
Missions now trigger more organically: gone are the meeting points that start a cutscene — players must now explore locations to find the right contacts. Vehicle theft becomes more complex, with options like electronic hacking or smashing windows. Side activities are plentiful: weightlifting, diving, jet-skiing, swimming, kayaking, basketball, e-scooter, car races, shooting ranges, motocross, skydiving, or tanning.

This presentation follows a series of massive leaks that have occurred since August 18, as discussed in our previous article.
GTA 6 is still expected on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The date has not changed, and pre-orders are open. The game will be fully digital, even for physical versions, which will only contain a download code.
